As part of the deal, all commercial policyholders who take up or renew an Ageas policy are eligible for a £100 voucher that can be redeemed against Cardinus’ risk assessment or e-learning modules, accessible via the Ageas website.

In addition, brokers who trade Ageas commercial business are entitled to a £500 voucher to redeem against training for their staff.

Cardinus’ web portal is focused on small to medium-sized businesses, enabling them to: access online health and safety e-learning; carry out a business health check; access policies and guidance documents and manage staff training centrally.

Commenting on the tie-up, Ageas distribution and development director, Chris Dobson, says: “There has never been a better case for risk management training, with increasing demands from regulatory requirements and businesses’ needing to run efficiently to counteract increasing cost.”

Commercial space sector boost expected

July 17th, 2011

The end of the US space shuttle programme could boost the commercial space sector, providing extra business for insurers, according to Simon Clapham, space underwriter at Liberty Syndicates.

Hiscox space underwriter, Denis Bensoussan, comments that work is currently underway with brokers and commercial ventures to develop insurance solutions for launch vehicles, cargo, crew and individual passengers on commercial space flights.
